The video shows the home screen of a computer. Processing is open as well as a PDF with some close-up images of differently structured fur. The mouse cursor moves to Processing's play button and starts the program in fullscreen. "Shou" is written in black, furry letters on a white background. The fur moves as if there's wind blowing; the wind direction seems to be determined by the position of the mouse cursor. Whenever the cursor hovers over the fur it's blown in all directions. The visuals are accompanied by wind noises and a crackling sound reminiscent of static electricity and breaking ice.
Generative Fur Type
At the intersection of my interest in generative art, typography and my love for animals the idea of a moving, fur structured type emerged.
Realized via Processing. Interaction through mouse cursor. Video sound design by Raphael Kittell.
